Why education is key:

We work within the community to reduce the incidence and impact of sexual harm by:

  1. Increasing awareness about what sexual violence actually is
  2. Increasing awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault
  3. Talking openly and providing accurate information to reduce stigma and shame
  4. Dispelling harmful myths about sexual assault
  5. Promoting respectful relationships
  6. Working with allied sectors, such as health and education, to identify individuals or families who may need education or support
  7. Strengthening families and communities
  8. Creating awareness within the community about where people can go for help
